Quick Summary
🌍 You can make billions 💰 and still make new (easy...) discoveries every day! Google & Amazon recently found out that they cannot fire their employees in Europe like they do in America. What a shame!! 😉

Yes, Europe, sorry... European countries (indeed, Europe is not a country...) have various regulations when it comes to collective layoffs.

All those countries have a few things in common, as they apply and adapt some EU regulations in their own laws. Sadly for those global businesses that would prefer to have one set of rules for the entire world, there are huge differences between European countries.

Here in France, to simplify, the entire process would depend on:
➡ the number of layoffs;
➡ how quickly you want them to go;
➡ whether you have a work council or not.

You will discover that there are many options when you arrive at that point ("Plan de sauvegarde de l'emploi," "rupture conventionnelle collective," etc.).

🛑 STOP thinking that it is complex because it is different from your home country.

💪 Be open to the diversity of rules, ready to adapt, and surround yourself with people who know what they are talking about.
